About the book:
How the First Letter was Written has Taffy the tribal girl trying to communicate a simple idea to a stranger. Her letter on bark of pictures is interpreted in many different ways, however, and soon the kind stranger is being beaten by all the tribal women. The panicked tribe rushes to find Taffy and her father- only to find the truth behind the silly letter.
